A vision is indeed becoming a reality. Over 300 persons of all ages attended the event in a festive atmosphere of Christmas lights and music in perfect weather after weeks of evening rains ( it was an outdoor event).
The theme of marriage and the family God’s way, pervaded the rich variety of items backed by a live band which included choirs such as Manchester High’s “All together sing” finalists, dance, a nativity production and a pointed pro- family message from patron Rev Oliver Daley accompanied by his wife Dr. Juliet Wynter-Daley.
A highlight of the event in keeping with a key strategy of the NAF, was a public recomittment to marriage by thirteen couples. Many curious children gathered around with their loud oohs and aahs after husbands were told to kiss their brides. They will never forget this and that’s the idea.
Many churches from accross manchester were in attendance. Of course there was a sumptious Christmas menu.
The celebration was facilitated through a partnership between the Mandeville Circuit of Baptist Churches, the SRHA (main funder) and of course the NAF.
With God’s help this will become an annual tradition to be held every first Friday of December. Please note on your calenders. It will be bigger and better next year as under God we continue to advocate for and celebrate the gifts of marriage and the family to preserve the next generation.
